I so wanted to write about this & everything that led up to it, but I also didn’t want to make anyone feel like I was taking a jab at them. But I think everyone that I’d feel good about discussing things with already knows anyway.
I’ll just say I’m glad to be coming out of the melancholy mood I’ve been in for the past or month or so!

I actually finished this a while ago, but haven’t really been in the mood for uploading images. Anyway, I think cameos are really pretty, but since it’s pretty unlikely that I would actually learn the skills & acquire the tools to make one, I just decided to make an embroidered cameo-looking thing. I haven’t found a home for her because I’m not sure if I’m done here or if I want to make another for a kind of diptych or maybe even do a few have a bit of a mini series. Whatever I end up choosing is going to affect the type of framing I want so for now I am just keeping her safe & hoping the fabric doesn’t fray too much!

I got that embroidery out of the hoop & into something that suits it a bit better! This little frame is something I picked up a thrift store. Originally, it had some kind of “inspirational” quote inside that I had to dispose of.
Anyway, sorry I’ve been so bad at posting &, more importantly, at reading up on other blogs! I was out of town & on vacation mode, & now that I’m back, I’m super busy with my internship, work, research, & general life things. I don’t know when I’ll be back to “normal”, but I hope it’s soon!

So I think we can agree, maybe my time management skills are not the best? I tend to get things that must be done (schoolwork, showing up to work work) done, but sometimes I end up accidentally cutting out the things I just want to do which is not good! Anyway, I finally bought a frame for this little embroidery doodle (embroidery doodle?) but then when I was cleaning the frame, I cut myself on the glass & ended up bleeding off & on for about three days so I figured maybe I ought to just not work on that project for a bit & waited quite a while before trimming my embroidery & stuffing it in the frame!
I think I should like my next embroidery project to be a bit bigger! Not necessarily in size, but maybe in complexity at least. I hope to have lots of available craft time this summer!
